We are excited to introduce you to Better Than The Gift, where we design clever and relatable gift stationery as our way of doing good. We strive to turn gifting into moments of connection.

Jenny and Julie met in college, and after taking very different paths through life, found their ways back together to build something meaningful. Better Than The Gift's first line of wrapping paper launched in 2024 and the team expanded into greeting cards, stickers, and gift bags in 2026. We strive to use the highest quality and most sustainable products we can find. At the heart of our business are our 100% compostable wrapping paper sheets. The quality is incredible and we can use them as compost in our gardens.

We started with wrapping paper because Jenny is terrible at giving gifts and for years her sisters complained. Finally—after decades of this—she realized this wasn’t a me problem. It was a them problem. Their expectations weren’t properly set. So, she did what any reasonable person would do: She set them herself. And that’s how our first design, “Lower Your Expectations,” was born.
